Well, I was catching up with some non-scifi programs I’ve recorded, and had to laugh when in 30Rock (created by and starring Tina Fey), they did a comparison of characters in the Star Wars films.
I’m not sure what the name of the episode is, but basically the scene was like this: Frank Rossitano (Judah Friedlander) explains to Tracy Morgan (Tracy Morgan) why there has never been, and never will be, a realistic computer generated images in a pornographic computer game.
Frank calls it the [not sure] factor. He produces a graph (from out of nowhere) and points to the low part of the graph on the left. He says, “See here, this is the bit we love, this is R2D2 and C3PO.” Tracy agrees. And this bit, pointing to the extreme right to a peak, “This is Han Solo, we love him!”. Tracy agrees intently studying the graph.
“But this bit, this is the CGI Stormtroopers… “, Frank points to a trough in the graph, way down, “..and we hate those. We think they’re weird, don’t look right, make us shudder.”
Tracy backs away, “Yes.. we hate… them!”
Now, ok, this is pretty paraphrased, and I can’t find the exact wording for it, but it was funny and basically it showed that if CGI gets to be ‘life like’ it just doesn’t look right.
Anyone got the exact wording or even a clip of it?

She’s a huge Star Wars fan - there are numerous references to Star Wars in 30Rock. I think she’s also a bit of a secret geek (or at least used to be) - Dungeons and Dragons and other kind of things. Apparently there was a poll for who should be a modern princess leia, and she came near (or the) top. She’d look great!

He points to the middle and goes, “This is like CGI Stormtroopers or Tom Hanks from the Polar Express,” and Tracy starts yelling for him to stop ahahahaha
