Secrets Revealed For LOST
Ok, I admit it, I’m probably one of the only people who manage to miss SF serials on TV and then have to watch them on DVD. Lost is one of them, I saw the pilot and the second episode, but then due to commitments missed the next couple or so, so obviously I couldn’t carry watching it on TV as the continuity would be compromised. I’ve also done it with Battlestar Galactica, The Invisible Man, and Doctor Who to name but a few. Note to oneself: buy a Tivo.
I have finally finished watching Lost Series 1 and came away dumbfounded, confused and somewhat wondering if the writers themselves knew what they were writing about. Don’t get me wrong, I find it addictive TV, filmed nicely, good back stories, but.. I can’t help thinking that the writers/producers are going to screw it up - or drag it out until the story pot runs dry.
Lost Series 2 is on order (yes, I’ve willed myself not to watch Series 2 either, as it was on while I went through Series 1), but until then I’ve had to make do with The Lost Theory Generator to at least try and put the storyline into something coherent. It’s fun and it does give you ideas on what’s happening.
Personally (after only seeing Series 1 remember) I think that somehow the island brings alive the people’s wishes or desires. The white polar bear the kid wanted to see? The step brother wanting his step sister dead? The guy who was confined to a wheelchair suddenly walking? My theory is a bit loose I know, but, well, I can’t make head nor tail of most of the storylines - they just seem to be randon flashbacks. Or maybe it’s all a dream (no, I hope not!).
Roll on Series 2 - For me. On DVD. Back to back.
